Thanks to grant funding from North Yorkshire County Council (public health), Scarborough Survivors is running a project based on the national Time to Change programme, which promotes social contact as a way to tackle the stigma associated with mental health issues.
The project will provide grants, administered by Scarborough Survivors. The grants enable individuals and groups across North Yorkshire, who have experienced mental health issues, to become Champions and hold events to allow social contact to take place.
Anyone interested in being considered for a small grant (£100 - £500) must read through guidance notes and complete an application form. Applications will be assessed by a panel of experts by experience (of mental illness) using a scoring system. Successful applicants who run a social activity will be asked to complete a feedback form after the event. There are three grant submission rounds.
Applications for round 1 must be received by 31 January; Round 2 by 30 April and Round 3 by 31 August. Successful applicants will receive training and support to deliver their event or activity.
